This dresser in blonde walnut and bookmatched maple inserts is a magnificent example of early French Art Deco. The geometric design, book matched door panels and ball supports attributed to the Art Deco period, the carved fruits and vine leaves point to a carryover of the more decorative, flowing and floral designs of the Art Nouveau period. A bevel edged mirror seperates the upper and lower sections and Art Deco handles and escutcheons add a finishing touch. The deco pieces of the 1910-1920 era had more floral motifs than the later deco, therefore we date our piece around the 1910's. I have not found another piece like this.
